Care Tips

CARE TIPS - Try to maintain at least two to four feet between any heating source and your furniture. Prolonged exposure to heat will cause your leather to dry out and fade. Avoid placing your leather in direct sunlight, under skylights, or directly under windows. Direct or indirect sunlight will cause Aniline leathers to fade prematurely. If possible through a blanket over any area of concern. This should provide enough protection or minimize fading. Never use any harsh chemicals on you leather! Keep materials like fingernail polish, paint thinner, bleach, chemicals with acids and any household cleaners away from your leather. If possible it is always a good idea to rotate seat cushions to keep the ware uniform.

HOW OFTEN DO I CLEAN MY LEATHER? Once per week - Dust your leather with a damp rag with water only or Leather Techs Pure Leather Cleaner. One of the reasons you purchased leather is that you can full remove the dust particles from the surface, making it ideal for dust-sensitive persons.

CLEANING: Fully clean any leather you own 2 to 4 times a year. For leather used every day or on a consistent basis clean more often or as needed. Sometimes a second application of cleaning is needed. Do not scrub harshly, this could lead to damaging the surface of the hide. Keep in mind not all stains can be removed especially in aniline leathers. The type or age of stain always effects whether it can be removed or not.

CONDITIONING: After fully cleaning or spot cleaning apply our Pure Leather Conditioner to renew the original protection and feel of your leather. A second coat may be applied to high use areas. This will help prevent stains, remove small surface scratches, apply a UV coating to slow down pre mature fading and give your leather a healthy look and feel.

These steps should take very little time and will make a dramatic difference in the overall life and appearance of your leather. If you have any further questions feel free to contact us. Thank you.
